From the North West to the Far East: Rosario’s Smart Export Strategy at Anuga 2025

Attending Anuga 2025 in Cologne was a whirlwind of innovation, flavour, and global connections. There were over 8000 exhibitors!

Among the standout exhibitors was Rosario, a UK-based export company with a unique approach to international grocery distribution.

Headline Interview: I had the chance to sit down with Rosario’s team for a quick interview (watch the video below). Based in the North West of England, Rosario specialises in consolidating UK grocery products—including lesser-known brands—and exporting them to Asian markets.

There are several positives of working with consolidators:

Payment in GBP for UK suppliers.
• Stock quality issues and expiration concerns are identified and addressed domestically before problems escalate overseas.
• Regular, smaller LCL (Less than Container Load) shipments improve cash flow management and help with shelf life.

What Makes Rosario Different? Rosario’s point of difference lies in their ability to:

  • Source niche and emerging UK brands.
  • Consolidate shipments efficiently for international clients.
  • Understand the cultural and consumer nuances of Asian markets.

Why This Matters: In a global market increasingly dominated by big names, Rosario’s model offers a lifeline to smaller UK producers looking to reach international shelves. Their agility and market insight make them a valuable partner for overseas retailers seeking authentic British products.

Our ideal customer is likely a supermarket in a small territory who would never be taking a container of any one brand.

Takeaways from Anuga:

  • The demand for UK groceries in Asia is growing, especially for unique and premium items.
  • Consolidation is key for cost-effective export strategies.
  • Companies like Rosario are bridging the gap between local producers and global consumers.

Watch the Interview:

In my 4 days at the show I met over 60 companies all of whom had a different story and ambition. However, there was one common theme: growth, growing in new markets, new categories and channels.

Closing Thoughts: Rosario’s story is a reminder that export success isn’t just about scale—it’s about strategy, relationships, and knowing your market. Anuga 2025 was full of stories like this.
